Being healthy means more than simply being physically active. It’s about maintaining a balanced spirit, mind and body. At the Y, it’s not about the activity you choose as much as it is about the benefits of living healthier on the inside as well as the outside.
The three types of classes offered are as follows:
These classes are for the first-time exercisers, the older adult, or anyone who needs slower workouts. This class is recommended for anyone with joint problems or back problems. This is an excellent class if you have been released from physical therapy and your doctor has recommended a water workout. Everyone works at their own pace, with goals set. The class works on balance, flexibility, muscle strength and cardio.
These classes are the next level of work-out. Again each person works to the best of their abilities. Adults of all ages are invited and the class works at many levels of cardio easy to intense. Everyone also works on flexibility, muscle strength and balance.
These classes are again for all ages teens to seniors, who feel comfortable in deep water. No swimming required. While this class also offers flexibility, muscle strength and cardio endurance, it also includes a great abs workout. Because this class is in deeper water, it is also low-impact and much easier on the joints.
Major renovations throughout the YMCA! All new Keiser equipment, updated wellness center flooring, handicap accessible door, just to name a few. Come take a tour, ask questions, and join the YMCA family!
